LIMO HIRE Amersham
Amersham today has the old same general appearance that it looked like in the 17th and 18th centuries. Apparently a Roman Villa existed in the area, however, the origins of the town go back to the pre-Saxon era. In the dark old ages Amersham was then called Agmodesham which is a bit of a mouthful so someone came up with Amersham!
The Market Hall in Old Amersham
Amersham is realistically split in two parts: Amersham Old town, the old market town and the other being posh Amersham-on-the-Hill. Two parts were formed when Metropolitan Railway later to be called the Metropolitan line came in, not forgetting another bit called Little Chalfont of course which comes under Amersham.
Amersham-on-the-Hill is a relatively new bit, dating back just over 125 years so really isn’t much interest to the historians unlike the much older Old Town of Amersham. Amersham as many will know is right on the end of the Metropolitan Line (The Met as we all these days know and refer to it as).
Prior to the arrival of The Met Amersham station would was actually Amersham Common. The Common stretched from Hyde Heath all the way to what we know today as Little Chalfont. Loads of farming went on in those days.
Amersham these days is a lovely peaceful and [;ace of interent to visit. We can take you there in a lovely stretched Limousine – so for Limo Hire Amersham, call A1 Stretch Limos – we’ll take you there no bother!
